Beatriz Buendia followed the love of her life from her native Colombia, South America and settled in Rowell, Georgia as Mrs.De Irisarri.

While still in Colombia, Beatriz combined her career as an architect with the creativeness of a jewelry artisan. Ms.De Irisarri's jewelry mentor was Franciso Pineros, with the acclaimed "La Mana" workshop, where he designs and teaches ancestral jewelry techniques, emphasizing work done only by hand. She worked as a bench jeweler for four years and participated several jewelry exhibitions in her country.

Since moving to the United States, Beatriz has focused exclusively on her career in jewelry design and gemology. She started at Archer International Imports with Victor and Valarie Ferlaino, where she leaned the wholesale side of the industry. She continued working at Jewelry Artisans for Jamie and Cary Kresl using her skills designing hundreds of custom pieces for retail customers.

Overwhelmed by the retail working experience and looking foward to a happier family life, she created p e r  c a r a t  Studio, as her own unique jewelry design business. Beatriz brings to the jewelry industry a unique blend of design qualities, academic training, broad international experience,a particular mixture of contemporary with an ancestral influence and a deep desire to meet the individual taste and needs of her customer.

What have you heard from Colombia?

Not only are coffee, flowers and textiles products proudly produced in Colombia, South America, but Colombian emeralds set the standard by which all the other emeralds are judged.

The color and transparency of a Colombian emerald makes it the most valuable emerald in the world. Our stones delivered to you with a grading report and certificate of origin are personally chosen by Beatriz De Irisarri.

We can import by special commission, to our retail and wholesale customers, emeralds to meet their needs. Emeralds bigger than half a carat are named by the miner or with the owner's name if they are purchased on their behalf.

 The Studio Image

"La Jouaillier", the studio image  is an antique french print from 1695 that features a woman (The Jeweler) dressed in gemstones and jewelry posing in her studio.

Everything in this print is about joy, elegance, unique beauty and detail, all per carat Studio standards.
